During the 101st General Assembly, State Senator Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) will serve as the Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Appropriations II Committee, a committee he served on previously.
As the new lead Republican serving on the Appropriations II committee, which is the second of two Senate budget committees, McConchie will oversee budget plans for K-12 and higher education, as well as a variety of other general services.
“I look forward to helping craft a responsible balanced budget plan that addresses key needs in our state,” said McConchie. “It’s no secret that the hardworking taxpayers and businesses have been on the hook for Illinois’ past budget failures. I will continually stress the importance of financial responsibility while addressing our key needs.”
McConchie was also appointed as Minority Spokesperson for the Senate State Government Committee and will serve as a member of the Public Health, Higher Education, Insurance, Labor, and Telecommunications and Info Technology committees.
