State Sen. Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) joined fellow lawmakers in the chamber of the House of Representatives on January 25 to listen to Gov. Bruce Rauner address the people of Illinois during the annual State of the State Address.
“Today, Governor Rauner in the State of the State Address recognized the continued struggles Illinois is facing,” said Sen. McConchie. “But also embraced the opportunity to solve those problems through bipartisan cooperation.
“Obviously, significant change is needed in our state in order to become a place where families and businesses want to come and stay. We must work on a comprehensive agreement that fundamentally fixes the system wherever necessary.
“We, as legislators, have an obligation to the people of Illinois to come together to facilitate change, and that starts with passing a balanced budget accompanied by structural reforms.”
